Techné innovates: T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE

Techné innovates spirit led to the development of a new coating T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE with a brand-new property: the biocidal function

What is T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE ?

It is a coating T-Coat PA with the implementation of a biocidal function. It means it procures both bactericidal (which eliminates bacteria) and fungicidal properties (which eliminates fungi)

Techné has chosen to improve its coating T-Coat PA by giving it a biocidal property.

The coating T-COAT PA main asset is its various certifications, whether for water applications with WRAS, UBA or ACS but also for food contact applications with certifications such as FDA positive list and migration test, and 1935/2004.

T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE doesn’t have these certifications yet, but it is already compliant with FDA positive list.

T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE can be applied on various substrates such as EPDM Peroxide, NBR, FKM… and many more!

How did we prove its efficiency ?

Characterization of the coationg biocidal effect:

The anti-bacterial effect has been measured by an accredited laboratory, according to ISO 22196:2011

The samples used for the tests, were elastomers substrates on which a thin layer of T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE has been applied.

The laboratory inoculated bacteria on coated substrates surfaces. Inoculated bacteria were:

Characterization of the coating fungicidal effect:

The fungicidal effect has been measured by an accredited laboratory, according to ASTM G21-15

The samples used for the tests, were elastomers substrates on which a thin layer of T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE has been applied.

The laboratory inoculated fungal strains (fungi) on the surface of coated substrates.

Fongicidal activity:

  • Results:

After 28 days no development of fungi on the surface of elastomer substrates coated with T-Coat PA-BIOCIDE has been observed. The obtained score is 0. It means that the protection brought by the coating is efficient against fungal contamination.

  • Observation made by the accredited laboratory: protection against fungicidal contamination in comparison with reference sample is considered as efficient.
